Welcome to CatchShare ("the Service", available at fish.c5products.com), operated by C5 Products ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What CatchShare is

CatchShare is an information service: a fishing report and fleet tracker with a community bulletin board. We publish and relay information — vessel positions, trip schedules, prices, fish counts, modeled fishing zones, radio call-ins, and member posts — and we host a board where members may offer surplus sport-caught fish to other members as free gifts. CatchShare is never a party to any fish transfer, never takes possession of or title to any fish, and never charges for fish. Paid subscriptions buy faster and more detailed information only.

2. The FREE FISH gift program

California Fish & Game Code § 7121 prohibits buying, selling, trading, or bartering fish taken under a sport fishing license. Every use of the FREE FISH board must comply. By posting a fish you declare that you caught it lawfully, within limits, and are giving it away as a true, unconditional gift — accepting no money, goods, services, tips, credits, favors, or promises of value for it, from anyone. By claiming a fish you declare that you are paying nothing for the fish itself, to anyone; that receiving it is not conditioned on any payment, tip, or purchase; and that you will not resell, trade, or barter it. Payments or tips for genuinely optional services (filleting, cleaning, icing, carrying, transport, pickup coordination) are payments for those services, not for fish, and must never be a condition of receiving fish. We may remove listings, suspend accounts, and report conduct that attempts to buy or sell fish through the Service.

3. Accounts

Registration is by invitation. You are responsible for your account and password, must be at least 18 years old (or use the Service with a parent or guardian), and must provide accurate information. One person per account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

4. Subscriptions

Premium is billed at the price shown at checkout (currently $1 for the first 30 days, then $15/month), recurring until cancelled. You can cancel any time and keep access through the end of the paid period. Premium provides speed and additional information (e.g., instant alerts, species targeting, AI likelihood estimates) — it never provides access to fish, which is free for all members. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law, harass others, post false listings or reports, scrape or resell our data feeds, probe or disrupt our systems, or attempt any purchase or sale of sport-caught fish. Community posts and messages must be your own and lawful; we may moderate or remove content at our discretion.

6. Information quality — no warranties

Vessel positions, schedules, prices, counts, modeled fishing zones, and AI estimates are provided "as is", from third-party and modeled sources that can be wrong, delayed, or incomplete. They are not navigation, safety, or legal advice, and must not be relied on for vessel operation or emergencies. Fish gifted through the board is handled and consumed at your own risk; inspect and handle it as you would any raw seafood.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts of members, anglers, crews, landings, or dock staff.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. These Terms are governed by California law.
